This is the wood sculpture that took my social life away from me for weeks but finally! I have completed it. Our goal was to create our own idea of a sanctuary, a place to get away from everything, rather that be a place in your mind or a specific place you like to go to get away from all of the chaos going on in your life. The rules included that we use every bit of it, nothing less, nothing more from just a 4 ft. rectangular piece of wood I got at Lowe's...chopped up, cut, sanded for years all of these pieces. I chose to use pine because I love the lines and its a pretty type of wood.....and 4ft of copper wire, 4ft 1/2" piece of dowel wood, and 4 eye hooks. The more curved pieces at the top are actually two pieces of wood glued together and sanded. The rock represents my totem. Used every bit of that board. ;)

Sanctuary. by ~cherishthemoment There's something very refreshing and modern about this sculpture, and yet at the same time serene and balanced. (Suggested by `oibyrd and Featured by `dedredhed)

Wow, I haven't seen any sculpture as original or creative as what you have made here. It represents exactly what it is supposed to be, a sanctuary. Great job!

This statement is ironic.
Now it isn't
Now it is!
OR IS IT?!
Nope, not anymore.
But what about now?

No Problem!

this is AMAZING, i have a lot of admiration for people that can take something like wood or a board or whatever and turn it into art like this! i took a sculpture class in college, and my imagination sucks, to be able to envision something like this from some pieces of wood....amazing, and then to execute it as perfectly as this....even more amazing

VERY VERY good
